The Ridgemount FxBEAM™ Junior Connector has been designed to provide a higher Return Loss than traditional fibre optic expanded beam connectors.
A Return Loss of ~42dB is achieved in comparison to the typical ~32dB value from such connectors. Lower back reflection means that the FxBEAM™ offers a field deployable, expanded beam solution for the higher data-rate systems coming into play in modern defence communications.
FxBEAM™ connectors will become increasingly important as demand explodes for secure data and communications in the operational theatre. They are ideal for systems that carry multiple signal types, whether it be communications data, alarm sensors or high-definition camera images.
